Twenty-six professionals from across government have earned certification in Data Analysis and Decision Making for Government from the UGA Carl Vinson Institute of Government. The graduates were celebrated during the final day of the Developing Data Analytics Capabilities Conference recently in Athens.
The Data Analysis and Decision Making for Government Certificate program is offered through the institute’s Georgia Data Innovation Hub. The program is designed to expand knowledge of data analytics fundamentals and helps participants stay on top of an ever-changing field. Through the 60-hour training program, participants learn how to effectively interpret, package, and present data to different decision makers with ease. Each participant creates a capstone project aligned with their area of work, which includes subjects from public safety to planning and education. Rebecca Braaten of DeKalb County Schools presented findings from her project “Early Grade Level Literacy Achievement: A Rationale for Prescriptive Intervention” during the graduation ceremony.
The next course will begin in September, more information is here.
