Daniel Wyatt leads the institute’s Defense Communities Resilience Program at the U.S.
Army Maneuver Center of Excellence at Fort Benning. On the installation, he manages
a seven-person team that provides subject matter expertise to support compliance with
the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and the preservation of cultural resources.
In addition to his leadership and management responsibilities, Daniel is embedded
with the installation’s Directorate of Public Works, where he serves as the primary
liaison between it and UGA academic faculty. In this role, he identifies infrastructure
challenges and informs the decision-making process through innovative design and forward-thinking
research.
A U.S. Marine Corps veteran, he previously worked in Alabama as an Engineering Technician
and Project Manager with the Lee County Highway Department, and for the Lee-Russell
Council of Governments, where he served as the Transportation Planner for the Auburn-Opelika
Metropolitan Planning Organization.
